The great thing about being an actor is that in order to study your craft, you have to go to acting school. If you are like many actors, perhaps you found traditional schooling a little boring, and possibly you were even known for disrupting classes whenever possible just for the chance to grab the spotlight for a few fleeting moments, even if it was only in the role of class clown. Acting school is where the class clown go for graduate school, because they fit right in.
What in a traditional academic setting might have been considered "acting out", may indeed earn the student extra credit in acting school. In fact, even if you're not really into acting and don't think you have any talent in the field, but you've always had a special talent for cutting up the class, or maybe you were just a general hellion in school, maybe acting school is where you can shine!
You wouldn't be the first person to get into acting at what might be considered to be late in life, nor would you be the first person to enter acting school out of either total boredom, or outright desperation. Sometimes it takes stepping outside of who you think you are to discover a hidden talent and a new path you will be following in life. There are all kinds of people in acting school with all kinds of dreams.
Not every actor spent years toiling and struggling in acting school before they got their break, but one will find consistently that the actors that we are most familiar with and whose talents we most admire have continued to go to acting school even though they are now rich and famous beyond our wildest dreams. Approaching acting as an art, we realize that it is a lifelong process of honing and perfecting our skills.
