If you're seriously working on fattening up your acting resume, what steps, exactly, are you taking to accomplish that goal? There is limited space at the top, and the only way to arrive there is to treat your acting resume as a work in progress, that eventually will be the calling card that gets your foot in the door for that one good part that will end up being the proverbial "big break" for you.
Your acting resume is your friend. Treat it as if it is your most precious possession, because, as an actor hoping to make a living in the industry, it is. If you don't make a conscious effort to study your craft and seek out valuable opportunities to take roles that will contribute attractive padding to your acting resume, how do you expect to set yourself apart from every other run-of-the-mill actor out there?
The inexplicable thing about it is that for some, the process of building a viable acting resume takes up to ten years or more, while yet others only have the slightest chance to get their feet wet in the business before being snatched up by a project that sends their career skyrocketing, even though their acting resume only consisted of a couple of school plays and a background bongo player in a cola commercial.
